When you select Start GPS Mapping, GeoMeasure taps into your device's high-accuracy positioning hardware. As you walk or drive around a field, the app listens to a constant stream of location data.
Every time a significant change in position is detected, we "drive a stake" into the digital ground. This creates a high-fidelity path that matches your actual movement, turning your physical path into a precise geometric shape.
Ideal for mapping from the office or surveying hard-to-reach terrain. You can manually place Surveyor Stakes directly on the high-resolution satellite imagery.
Our interactive map allows you to drag stakes to refine boundaries, insert new vertices between existing points, and delete misplaced markers. The measurements update instantly as you refine the shape.
Technical Accuracy
GeoMeasure uses the WGS 84 (EPSG:4326) coordinate reference system, the global standard for GPS.
We use the Haversine Formula to calculate distances. Unlike simple flat-grid math, this accounts for the Earth's curvature, ensuring that a 10km path is accurate regardless of where you are on the globe.
Surface area is computed using advanced spherical geometry algorithms. This allows us to calculate the exact acreage of complex, multi-vertex fields with high precision.
